“How do I make more time?” The simple answer is to duplicate yourself. After all, this is the great thing about Network Marketing right?!

Duplicating yourself is the only way to accomplish more and multiply your productivity if you are doing as much as you can yourself productively and efficiently.

Time is the great equalizer when you think about it, because we all have the same amount of it. We all have 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days per year.

How time differs from one person in MLM to another falls on how we utilize it. Undoubtedly, it is the most valuable commodity. But if you are productive, efficient and sure you are not wasting it in your MLM business on non result-producing activities, the only way to get more done is to duplicate yourself.

Of course, that is easier said than done. Duplicating yourself and adding people are not the same, so do not confuse the two. In Network Marketing you need people that will offload work from you and duplicate what you do in quality and quantity.
They may never be as good as you, but the objective is to empower people and make them as productive, knowledgeable and self-sufficient as possible to double your productivity.

Do not spend your time with people that are not consistently building their Network Marketing business with a sense of urgency like you are. Your timing can never be dependent on anyone else’s timing!

They become a burden and their lack of productivity will slow you down even more. They must work from a list and you must check their list and monitor their work. In MLM, we call this a daily activity list.

The key to great duplication is finding someone who can practice anticipatory thinking. They are always thinking ahead (anticipating) and they evaluate everything they do as to how it will affect the end result or what the action will cause.
When you delegate in an attempt to duplicate, you cannot just cut the person loose. Now you must initiate and execute the successful formula of offloading responsibility, delegating and duplicating: MEASURE, MONITOR, ADJUST AND CONTROL.
You must measure what they are doing. So to begin with, the assignment must be measurable. If it can’t be measured, it is not defined and might as well not exist (maybe it doesn’t). If you can measure it, you can then monitor it through many different ways.

So you are monitoring what you can measure. If the desired result is not there, you can then ADJUST, by interceding, coaching or working with them to improve the outcome. By adjusting what is being done, you can control the outcome or result and greatly increase what is being produced. If you understand this, you have actually CREATED TIME!

If you are productive and efficient and you add a second person to your MLM organization who is as productive (be satisfied with 50 to 75 percent as effective), you have doubled your time and productivity.

So if you are putting in 20 hours a week and they put in the same, you have 40 hours being put in while you still put in the same 20. If you triple that and have four more people, totaling six, now putting in 20 hours, you are now leveraging 120 hours for the 20 you put in. Of course there is some slippage and it is affected by how well you manage (measure, monitor, adjust, and control).

But before we take this too far or get too excited, FREEZE! Pause! You need to check yourself before you wreck yourself! Most people in Network Marketing have not maxed out their time or productivity. Let’s make sure we are doing the result producing activities and not chasing our tail or just putting time in.

Putting time in is not what counts. What counts are activities that lead to results or increased productivity. I have struggled with this in my Network Marketing organizations for years and have finally reduced it to a formula that made it approximately measurable.

The formula is TQ = GD = V = S. We all put Time (T) in, but the key is the Quality (Q) of time, which makes time multiply itself so it is expressed as an exponent.

An exponent is the number of times a quantity multiplies itself (the ‘power’). The quantification of quality of time is determined by the number of result producing activities accomplished. When you are putting time in to offload responsibility or duplicate how passionate and dedicated you are through others, focusing on result producing activities using anticipatory thinking determines the power of the exponent “Q” (quality of time).

Fundamentally, that comes down to anticipatory thinking where they know the objective and are always thinking ahead as to how what they do affects the result or speeds up accomplishing it.

Time to the exponent of Quality produces or is directly proportional to (in an ideal world equal to) Growth (G) or Productivity. When you are doing that with someone you have taken on to delegate to and duplicate yourself, the Growth and productivity multiplies itself by the amount of Duplication (D).

That quantity in turn translates into Volume (V) or Sales (S) (in your MLM business). That ultimately translates into residual income to you as an independent business owner.

So how do you get more done and make sure you are working at maximum efficiency to achieve result-producing activities?
Well the first thing you learn is you have to clearly know what your goal or vision is. Where are you going and what are you and your team trying to accomplish?

Once you are clear on that and passionately pursue it, you must use anticipatory thinking. How is what I am doing going to affect the result? Am I thinking ahead? Am I missing anything? THINK! THINK! THINK! That is the most important thing. Do not just put time in. Do not wander around looking for something to do or covering your gluteus maximus.

If you are clear and set out to make things happen you are in the top 20 percent in the entire Network Marketing industry.  Now the game starts. How do you get in the top 5 percent productivity-wise?  Because that is where real Network Marketing success lies!

What MOST Network Marketers Lack

Before we dive into the specifics of what MOST Network Marketers lack in their business, we need to step back and first put the network marketing industry, and your business, into perspective.  You need to see how it fits into the larger world of “business.”

This means looking at how the business of network marketing has been demonstrated and executed for fifty-plus years, where it is now, and most importantly, where the current state of network marketing is headed and how it’s changing.

Understanding the current state (maturity) of the Network Marketing/MLM industry is critical to your long term success

Let’s lay out what the biggest factors are for why our industry has struggled much more than it should have and for much longer than it should have. Then, let’s talk about solutions that you can apply immediately that will eradicate these stumbling blocks and get you to step out of the shadows of past Network Marketers’ mistakes which has given rise to such a high failure rate in this industry.

So, let’s talk Business 101 for a moment.  We will keep this simple.  In any business, when you are marketing your product, service or opportunity, you would do your research and find out who your target market is.

Let’s use the wine industry for simplicity.  If you are in the wine business, you are looking to sell your wine to wine drinkers, right?  So obviously you would not be going out into the marketplace trying to sell your wine to people who do not drink alcohol.  You also wouldn’t try to convince people that they need to drink wine when it is not their lifestyle or choice to do so.

Now, let’s say that for the last fifty years wine companies had tried to convince these non-wine drinkers to drink, and tried to convince them that they NEED to buy their amazing wine, wouldn’t you agree that the wine industry would get a very bad reputation as an industry as a whole?

The reason I have used this ridiculous wine example is because this is exactly what Network Marketers have been doing for the last fifty plus years!  They have been advertising to and trying to convince the wrong target market, 95% of the time.  Now, does this make smart business sense?  Is this business 101?  Of course not!  Now hear me out loud and clear…

THIS is why so many people have a preconceived notion that what you are involved in is a pyramid, a scam, or something they just do not want any part of.  This is also a major reason why so many people with high hopes and dreams do not even give our industry a shot and that is a SHAME!

What I am trying to say is that it is not the ‘SHAPE’ (pyramid) of what you do that people have a problem with.  Every business and organization on earth is shaped in the form of a pyramid.  It is the strongest structure in the word!  The problem is that the way the business has been conducted for so long by misinformed, uneducated, ‘business’ people in this industry has given it a bad reputation.

We have hurt ourselves and stunted our own growth and the growth of future generations simply because most people in this industry lack the fundamental business skills, education and training necessary to succeed as an entrepreneur.

The MAIN Reason Most People FAIL in Network Marketing is due to a LACK OF KNOWLEDGE, MARKETING, TRAINING & SUPPORT.

It is ridiculous to think that bugging your friends and family could be a solid foundation for ANY business.

Why?

Reason #1: They are Unqualified & Not Targeted

Most of your Warm Market is NOT interested in starting a home business online or offline and NONE of them came to you.  YOU were the hunter. Instead, I am going to  teach you how to become the hunted- THIS IS KEY!

Reason #2: Quantity

I don’t care how many people you know, you will never be able to run enough numbers with your warm market.

Another issue is that, in this industry, the barrier to entry is ZERO – meaning we let anyone in!  But some people simply just DO NOT qualify to be a Network Marketer-PERIOD!  There, I said it!

In other industries people have to qualify themselves to break in.  In sports you’d have to try out, in arts you’d have to audition, and for a J.O.B. you’d have to interview.  But in NWM/MLM, we will just let anyone in and work with them – why?  This is senseless.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I understand that’s part of what makes this industry so great – that everyone has the chance to make it and live the dream lifestyle.  But, at the same time this is another reason for why the industry has gotten a bad rap.  People quit (because they were not qualified) and then go out and tell people that NWM/MLM doesn’t work.

If you’ve ever tried to sit down and talk to someone about network marketing who is not open to the idea nor has any desire to own their own business, then you know how counter-productive and draining having this conversation can be…so stop having it!

Instead, you want to target entrepreneurs, other people who may have been in NWM in the past, or who are existing network marketing professionals.  These are entrepreneurs who are already sold on the concept, understand the industry, etc.

You must understand something about building a Network Marketing business… Your #1 target market includes only 2 groups of people:

  1. Current network marketersOR
  2. People who are actively seeking information about getting started in the industry/people who are entrepreneurial
