Here’s the problem, how was I going to trick myself into sitting through hours and hours of training classes?  This was originally an issue for me because I seem to
have some impatient ‘issues’ and it just takes too much time to get the million dollar information from the courses. I wanted it NOW so I could go achieve my dreams.

Well, here’s how I tricked myself (and how you can too). It’s really simple. And it totally changed my life. This is really all I did and you can do the same:

#1- I said to myself, “Okay Eric, you know how some people get really excited and go rent a bunch of movies and watch them all weekend? They spend 2, 3, 4 hours
or more watching movies. Well, here is what we are going to do: You are going to be just as excited to watch this million dollar information. And then, I promise you, that you will go be able to live a life of such passion and fun and adventure and service that it deserves to be made into a movie…in other words, you will enjoy real life more than people enjoy imaginary movies…is that fair?”

This really inspired me and motivated me to make it BIG time!

And how did it happen? Well, through tricking myself.

I just learned to tell myself a different story about what training courses actually were. I compared them to the exciting release of a new movie.

You see, when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

Again, I trick myself, and say, “I know people who take out loans for $50K to go to college so they can get a job they can’t stand until they get downsized or whatever, and
then go and do it all over again.

Or, I can spend a little bit of money and a lot of “sweat equity” and learn from a multi-millionaire (not a broke college professor…no offense to any college professors)…and I can come out of that course with real knowledge that will give me a real shot at controlling my financial future, my time freedom, and my deeply-cherished bossless life of independence.

This change is normally very difficult for most people-because of money. The true E or S quadrant person will not work unless it is for money. This is also what causes people to not reach the top of the network marketing system: they want money more than they want to change quadrants.
A B quadrant or I quadrant person will also work for money, but in a different way. The B quadrant person works to build or create an asset-in this case, a business system. The I quadrant person invests in the asset or the system.

The beauty of most network marketing systems is that you do not really make much money unless you help others leave the E and S quadrants and succeed in the B and I quadrants. If you focus on helping others make this shift, then you will be successful in the business.

As a B or an I, sometimes you don’t get paid for years; this, a true E quadrant or S quadrant person will not do. It’s not part of their core values. Risk and delayed gratification disturb them emotionally.

Delayed Gratification and Emotional Intelligence:

One of the beauties of network marketing is that it focuses on developing your emotional intelligence as well as your business skills.

Emotional intelligence is an entirely different matter from academic intelligence. Remember, there are two reasons required to be successful in network marketing: to help yourself, and to help others. Reason number one means helping yourself get to the B side of the quadrant. What about reason number two?

The beauty of most network marketing systems is that you don’t really make much money unless you help others leave the E and S quadrants and succeed in the B and I quadrants. If you focus on helping others make this shift, then you will be successful in Network Marketing.

If you only want to teach yourself to be a B quadrant and I quadrant person, then a true network marketing system won’t work for you. You may as well go to a traditional business school, which focuses only on you becoming a B quadrant person.

The beauty of a network marketing business is that your goal is to create assets, which are other B’s working under you-and their job is to create other B’s working under them. In traditional business, the focus is for the B to have only E’s and S’s working for them.

The type of business most people and entrepreneurs are taught to build is a business with them at the top and E’s and S’s at the base. The fact of the matter is that most businesses and companies really don’t have room at the top for many other B’s, which is why Robert Kiyosaki strongly recommends that all employees look into network marketing as their own part-time businesses.

The traditional corporate system really is a pyramid, because there are a few B’s and I’s near the top, and more E’s and S’s at the base. A network marketing system is a reverse pyramid: its primary focus is to bring up more and more B’s to the top.

One type of pyramid, the traditional type, has its base on the ground; the other type has its base in the air. It’s a pyramid that pulls you up instead of pushing you down. A network marketing business gives everyone access to what used to be available only to the rich.

“How do I make more time?” The simple answer is to duplicate yourself. After all, this is the great thing about Network Marketing right?!

Duplicating yourself is the only way to accomplish more and multiply your productivity if you are doing as much as you can yourself productively and efficiently.

Time is the great equalizer when you think about it, because we all have the same amount of it. We all have 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days per year.

How time differs from one person in MLM to another falls on how we utilize it. Undoubtedly, it is the most valuable commodity. But if you are productive, efficient and sure you are not wasting it in your MLM business on non result-producing activities, the only way to get more done is to duplicate yourself.

Of course, that is easier said than done. Duplicating yourself and adding people are not the same, so do not confuse the two. In Network Marketing you need people that will offload work from you and duplicate what you do in quality and quantity.
They may never be as good as you, but the objective is to empower people and make them as productive, knowledgeable and self-sufficient as possible to double your productivity.

Do not spend your time with people that are not consistently building their Network Marketing business with a sense of urgency like you are. Your timing can never be dependent on anyone else’s timing!

They become a burden and their lack of productivity will slow you down even more. They must work from a list and you must check their list and monitor their work. In MLM, we call this a daily activity list.

The key to great duplication is finding someone who can practice anticipatory thinking. They are always thinking ahead (anticipating) and they evaluate everything they do as to how it will affect the end result or what the action will cause.
When you delegate in an attempt to duplicate, you cannot just cut the person loose. Now you must initiate and execute the successful formula of offloading responsibility, delegating and duplicating: MEASURE, MONITOR, ADJUST AND CONTROL.
You must measure what they are doing. So to begin with, the assignment must be measurable. If it can’t be measured, it is not defined and might as well not exist (maybe it doesn’t). If you can measure it, you can then monitor it through many different ways.

So you are monitoring what you can measure. If the desired result is not there, you can then ADJUST, by interceding, coaching or working with them to improve the outcome. By adjusting what is being done, you can control the outcome or result and greatly increase what is being produced. If you understand this, you have actually CREATED TIME!

If you are productive and efficient and you add a second person to your MLM organization who is as productive (be satisfied with 50 to 75 percent as effective), you have doubled your time and productivity.

So if you are putting in 20 hours a week and they put in the same, you have 40 hours being put in while you still put in the same 20. If you triple that and have four more people, totaling six, now putting in 20 hours, you are now leveraging 120 hours for the 20 you put in. Of course there is some slippage and it is affected by how well you manage (measure, monitor, adjust, and control).

But before we take this too far or get too excited, FREEZE! Pause! You need to check yourself before you wreck yourself! Most people in Network Marketing have not maxed out their time or productivity. Let’s make sure we are doing the result producing activities and not chasing our tail or just putting time in.

Putting time in is not what counts. What counts are activities that lead to results or increased productivity. I have struggled with this in my Network Marketing organizations for years and have finally reduced it to a formula that made it approximately measurable.

The formula is TQ = GD = V = S. We all put Time (T) in, but the key is the Quality (Q) of time, which makes time multiply itself so it is expressed as an exponent.

An exponent is the number of times a quantity multiplies itself (the ‘power’). The quantification of quality of time is determined by the number of result producing activities accomplished. When you are putting time in to offload responsibility or duplicate how passionate and dedicated you are through others, focusing on result producing activities using anticipatory thinking determines the power of the exponent “Q” (quality of time).

Fundamentally, that comes down to anticipatory thinking where they know the objective and are always thinking ahead as to how what they do affects the result or speeds up accomplishing it.

Time to the exponent of Quality produces or is directly proportional to (in an ideal world equal to) Growth (G) or Productivity. For me, I just CAN’T take seriously the idea of working on ANYTHING that has an income ceiling.
